The PILOT PROJECTS scheme is designed to ensure that the 7-year MEDIA 2007 programme can take account of rapid technological change. It is expected that in the next few years the use of digital technologies will make European audiovisual works more easily accessible because of new ways of transporting audiovisual content and as a result they will be more widely available outside their country of origin. Areas targeted for PILOT PROJECT support in 2010 are:

  • Distribution: New ways of creating, distributing and promoting European content via non-linear services.

  • Open Media Production Environment

  • Distribution - Promotion and Marketing.  The use of web techniques to develop local Cinema Communities.
  • Junction Media Portal: to widen and improve the access and the exploitation of structured information of European audiovisual content
  • Previously funded Projects: Projects which have received funding under a previous MEDIA Pilot Projects Call for Proposals

Proposed projects will have to offer a minimum European dimension, which will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria: the origin of the content and the target audience. This should be quantified as at least four countries participating in the MEDIA 2007 Programme and at least three different official languages of the European Union.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS  EACEA 4/2010:         Deadline: 14 June 2010
