MEDIA MUNDUS

In November 2009 the European Union adopted a new MEDIA MUNDUS programme, a broad international cooperation programme for the audiovisual industry to strengthen cultural and commercial relations between Europe's film industry and film-makers of third countries. The EU will provide €15 million of funding from 2011-2013 for projects submitted by audiovisual professionals from the EU and third countries. The Programme will run from 2011-2013 and will capitalise on this growing interest and the opportunities offered by global cooperation of the audiovisual industry.

TV DRAMA GUIDE

Producers often contact the MEDIA Desks and Antenna prior to the deadlines for the MEDIA support scheme for TV Broadcasting looking for contact details for European Commissioning Editors. It is easy to direct Documentary producers to the excellent EDN Guide.  The Animation sector has access to tailored market events and CARTOON is a great resource.

As the same resources are not available to TV Drama producers, MEDIA Desk Ireland and MEDIA Antenna Galway published a Guide to TV Drama Slots in the Celtic countries on the occasion of the 2010 Celtic Media Festival. The Guide is a work in progress and it is intended that it will eventually expand to include all EU countries.
