The PILOT PROJECTS scheme is designed to ensure that the 7-year MEDIA 2007 programme can take account of rapid technological change. It is expected that in the next few years the use of digital technologies will make European audiovisual works more easily accessible because of new ways of transporting audiovisual content and as a result they will be more widely available outside their country of origin. Areas targeted for PILOT PROJECT support in 2011 are:

• Distribution: New ways of creating, distributing and promoting European content via non-linear services.

• Networked databases to broaden and strengthen the access and the exploitation of catalogues
  

• Previously funded Projects: Projects which have received funding under a previous MEDIA Pilot Projects Call for Proposals
